Picture yourself walking down centuries-old, cobbled streets, sampling local delicacies, strolling through charming villages and being in awe of the breathtaking scenery.

  • Day 1: Arrival to Finland

After landing at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, you’ll hop on a private transfer to your accommodation in Helsinki’s city centre, to start your Scandinavian adventure in style. Take advantage of this first day to discover this Nordic gem at your own pace.

If you arrive early, we recommend you book an optional sightseeing tour, by boat or bus, to make the most of your time in Helsinki. These tours will show you around the Finnish capital‘s top attractions for a great overview of the sights and history of the city. Tonight you will dine on your own in Helsinki.

Spend the night at Scandic Hotel Grand Marina or similar.

    Included:
    • Private transfer from Helsinki airport to your accommodation

    Attractions Attractions Accommodation details
  • Day 2: Explore Helsinki

You can spend the whole day exploring Helsinki at your own pace. The Finnish capital is known for its creativity and is one of UNESCO’s cities of design. In fact, it boasts its very own Design District and “design tram route” (Line 6).

Some notable city landmarks to see or visit include Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, Sibelius Park, Finlandia Hall, the Finnish National Opera House, and Parliament House, the seat of government in Finland. Of course, there are also plenty of great shops, galleries and museums. We recommend a stop at Kauppatori, or “Market Square”, which is full of stalls that sell fresh fish and produce as well as handicrafts and souvenirs. Tonight you will dine on your own in Helsinki.

Spend the night at Scandic Hotel Grand Marina or similar.

    Included:
    • Continental breakfast buffet at your accommodation

Attractions Attractions Attractions Attractions Attractions Attractions Accommodation details Optional Extras
  • Day 3: Ferry to Estonia & Explore Tallinn

Start the morning with a 2-hour ferry ride from Helsinki to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. After checking in at your accommodation, take the rest of the day to explore this beautiful medieval city. We recommend wandering around the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and taking a walk to the Upper Town (Toompea). Make sure to see the top sights including the Town Hall, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and the Toompea Castle, the current seat of the Estonian Government. Tonight you will dine on your own in Tallinn.

Spend the night at Radisson Blu Sky Hotel or similar.

  • Day 4: Morning in Tallinn & Sail to Sweden

Spend the morning exploring more of Tallinn before boarding an overnight cruise to Sweden. Like most European cities with an 800-year history, Tallinn is a patchwork of historic areas, offering a fascinating blend of Eastern and Western European influences. For a blast from the past, take a stroll through the Kadriorg district, reminiscent of a time when Estonia was ruled by Russian tsars. This area houses several interesting sights, such as the Kadriorg Palace and the Estonian Art Museum (KUMU). You could also visit the newer parts of Tallinn, such as Vabaduse väljak (“Freedom Square”), to get a glimpse of Soviet-era life.

In the late afternoon, you will board an overnight cruise to Stockholm. There’s plenty to do on board besides sleeping, with a variety of cafés, restaurants and shops to enjoy. Tonight you will dine on your own on board.

Spend the night on the cruise, in a private cabin with sea view.

    Included:
    • Continental breakfast buffet at your accommodation
    • Cruise from Tallinn to Stockholm

  • Day 5: Arrival in Sweden & Welcome Dinner

Have a leisurely breakfast on the ship this morning as you sail through the gorgeous Stockholm archipelago, made up of more than 24,000 islands and islets. When you arrive in Stockholm, make your way to your accommodation and start exploring the city.

You could go shopping on the well-known pedestrian street Drottninggatan and explore the surrounding area of Östermalm. Here you will find numerous shops, cafés, and restaurants for a perfect introduction to Scandinavian culture.

This evening, you will meet your group and tour leader at a welcome dinner.

Today you will explore the historical heart of Stockholm. In the morning, embark on a guided bus tour around the top city attractions including the City Hall, the hip district of Södermalm, where you will get a panoramic view over Stockholm, and the Old Town (“Gamla Stan”). Next, you will go on a guided walk through the medieval cobbled streets of the Old Town where you’ll also enjoy lunch with the group.

After lunch, you get the rest of the day to explore on your own. We recommend taking a short ferry ride to the charming island Djurgården. Here you’ll find some of Scandinavia’s most popular museums, including the Vasa Museum and Abba The Museum. You could also visit Skansen, the oldest open-air museum and zoo in Sweden. Other sightseeing options include joining a guided boat tour of the archipelago or visiting the Royal Palace. Tonight you will dine on your own in Stockholm.

Once you’ve reached Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, you will be transferred by bus to your accommodation. Then a local guide will meet you to take you on a walking tour of Copenhagen’s main landmarks. Stroll through the grand courtyard of the Amalienborg Palace, where the Danish Royal Guard stands watch day and night. Explore the Danish capital on your own this morning. We recommend strolling along Strøget, a central street of Copenhagen renowned for world-class shopping, or relaxing at one of the cafés or restaurants by Nyhavn.

If you’re up for it, walk up the winding equestrian staircase of the Round Tower (Rundetårn), or, for amazing views of the city, climb the 400 steps to the spiralling steeple of the Church of our Saviour. You can also take this time to take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline to the world-famous Little Mermaid statue.

In the early afternoon, you will board a cruise to Oslo and enjoy a traditional Scandinavian dinner buffet on board. As you sail up the Kattegat strait to Norway’s capital, you can take part in the on-board entertainment or just relax and watch the sunset from the deck.

Reviews

We don’t like to brag, so we’ll let our happy customers do it for us.

Your professional attitude in handling the minutest details is something I admire the most

I have done two once circle tour of Iceland and now Scandinavian east to west. Your professional attitude in handling the minutest details is something I admire the most. It helps everyone to be prepared. Thanks

We´d like to return

The tour was highly enjoyable. We visited some wonderful places. Whilst we like to be independent, the organisation of our transport and accommodation was very good and allowed us to really relax and unwind. There are many places we'd like to return to. More time in Norway is certainly on our agenda!

A trusted traveling companion

Hotels were always well located (most important), clean, excellent service and most with excellent views. Sofia was always very responsive and knowledgable. Using Nordic Visitor to arrange for hotels and transportation saved me a lot of time. And having them available in an emergency, made me feel like I had a trusted traveling companion.

Accommodation

Sleep soundly, in the accommodation type of your choice, and wake up ready to enjoy another day of exploration.

For added comfort, your luggage will be picked up in Oslo and will be waiting for you in Bergen. Remember to pack an overnight bag for your night in Flåm.

To ensure comfortable seating for everyone on our tour, we need to limit the size and amount of luggage. Each guest is allowed one suitcase or large bag, and one smaller item (e.g., a small backpack or day bag) for daily essentials like camera, wallet, medications and so forth. If you have any questions about luggage, your Nordic Visitor travel consultant will be able to assist you.
