Norway's national music museum
The Ringve Museum is dedicated to music and musical instruments from all over the world. Set in an 18th century country estate on the outskirts of Trondheim, this interesting and entertaining museum was developed over several years by the manor’s late owner.
The former barn includes various multi-media musical exhibits, including displays dedicated to the invention of the piano and the history of pop and rock music. And the old cow sheds have since been converted into a formal concert hall, with performances ranging from the classical to folk. During tours, students often play music in this room.
The grounds surrounding the estate compose the tranquil Ringve Botanical Gardens, part of the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, with over 2000 species of plants and trees on display.
