The second longest fjord in Norway
Hardangerfjord is the fourth longest fjord in the world, and the second longest fjord in Norway, stretching 179km from the Atlantic Ocean into Norway along the Hardangervidda plateau. Its innermost point is at the town of Odda, not far from Flam.
Today Hardangerfjord is very popular among tourists and for fish farmers, with the fjord being one of the world’s major prducers of farmed salmon and rainbow trout.
