An artistic experience
Zorn Museum (Zornmuseet) in Mora is one of Sweden's most established and well-known art museums. It celebrates the work of Anders Zorn (1860 – 1920), who was known for his portraiture and painting. Selected works of the artist's contemporary friends are also on display.
Next to the museum is the Zorn House (Zorngården), the residence of the artist and his wife Emma. Visitors can experience a distinct blend of Swedish and English architecture with a blend of Gustavian, Empire and bucolic furniture. Dating from 1910, Zorn and Emma used this house to entertain guests in the east wing, in a room with 10 metre-high ceilings. Zorn moved his grandfather’s cottage on the property in a bold first development of what was to become a wonderful residence.
