Celebrating the Nobel Prize
On the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize, in 2001, the Nobel Museum (Nobelmuseet) opened to the public. The museum is devoted to the history of the Nobel Prize and to the founder, Alfred Nobel (1833-1896). It houses temporary exhibitions about notable laureates and an extensive programme of films, theatre and lectures. The museum is located in Stockholm’s old Stock Exchange Building (Börsen), which it shares with the Nobel Library and the Swedish Academy.
