A nature lover's paradise
Dalarna is a province that is a popular vacation destination for Swedes and foreign travellers due to good fishing lakes, well-maintained campgrounds, and thick forests. Many Swedes own a second residence in Dalarna. In mid-June, there are summer celebrations held in many of the small villages and larger cities.
Mora, which is located in Dalarna, hosts the world’s most famous cross-country ski race called the Vasaloppet, 90 km of blood, sweat and tears with thousands of skiiers between Sälen and Mora.
This region is also home to the Falun Coppermine and surroundings, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For kids there is the wonderful Children’s Mine attraction and for everyone a number of good restaurants and cafés.
