One of Norway's most visited waterfalls

Vøringfossen is one of the most visited waterfalls in Norway. The falls are 183 metres (600 ft) high and can be found near Eidfjord off Highway 7, the road that connects Oslo with Bergen.

This natural wonder can be experienced up close from the top by the Fossli Hotel or at the bottom from the beautiful Måbødalen valley, where you can walk to the falls through a rocky ravine. Overall, this moderately challenging hike takes about 1.5 hours (both ways) and is accessible from the parking lot near the opening of the Måbø Tunnel. Good hiking shoes are recommended.

Another way to get a good look at Vøringfossen is with the Troll Train (Trolltoget), a 50-minute guided tour in multiple languages of the Eidfjord area via a mini-train on wheels. It runs daily from June to September along the old Måbø Road and departs every hour from the Vøringfoss Cafeteria and every half hour from the Måbø Farm. Tickets are sold at the Eidfjord tourist information centre.
