Some of the most photographed waterfalls in Norway
The Seven Sisters waterfall is one of the most photographed sights in Geirangerfjord. 7 streams tumble gracefully from a height of around 250 metres (820 feet) straight into the fjord below, which can be especially powerful in spring due to snow melt.
Directly opposite stands the Suitor Waterfall, also known as the Bridal Veil. Local legend says the Suitor is forever trying to impress the Seven Sisters on the other side of the fjord.
The waterfalls are best seen from a fjord cruise or kayak trip, where you can truly appreciate their scale. They are also visible from popular viewpoints like Ørnesvingen and Flydalsjuvet, both of which give you sprawling panoramas over the fjord and surrounding mountains.
Together, the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil form one of the most famous natural attractions in Geirangerfjord. The mix of natural beauty and legend makes this area a highlight of any trip to Norway’s fjord region.
