Iconic design where you can walk on the roof
The Oslo Opera House (Operahuset) is the home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, but it’s probably better known for what’s on the outside than what’s happening inside. With its mirrored facades, white marble walls and angular architecture, this award-winning building has been likened to giant iceberg, and its cutting-edge interiors and acoustics are just as impressive.
For a fabulous view over the city’s waterfront and the Oslo Fjord, take a walk up to the opera house’s vast rooftop, and on a nice summer day you can join the sunbathing locals on the sloping walkways.
