Historic highlight to visit in Bergen
Håkon’s Hall is a 750-year-old hall in Bergen, norway built by King Håkon Håkonson as a royal residence and banqueting hall. When the hall was built Bergen was Norway’s largest and most important town, so the site was used regularly for major national events. In fact, Håkon’s Hall is still used today for royal dinners and official occasions.
The hall is part of Bergenhus fortress, at the entrance to the harbour in Bergen. It is one of the oldest and best preserved castles in Norway.
