Come visit one of Norway's historic open-air museums
Gol, a small town with a population of about 4,400, is a popular stop for travellers on their way to Geilo. This region is known for good skiing in the winter and hiking, biking and swimming in the summer months.
Here, you will also find Gol Bygdetun, an open-air museum containing well-preserved old buildings dating back to the 1600s, including an exact replica of the town’s old stave church from the 13th century that was eventually moved to the Norwegian Folk Museum in Oslo.
