The hub of city life
The Senate Square (Senaatintori) and its surroundings make up the oldest part of central Helsinki. Bordering the square are many neoclassical buildings and city landmarks, including the Helsinki Cathedral, the Palace of the Council of State, the National Library and the University of Helsinki. Nearby, travellers can find the Sofiankatu museum street, Esplanadi Park and the Market Square.
