Strøget is Copenhagen's high street and among the world's longest pedestrian streets, stretching more than a kilometre from City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen) to Kongens Nytorv in city centre. If you have trouble locating it on a map, that’s because Strøget is actually a nickname given to the combination of the streets Frederiksberggade, Nygade, Vimmelskaftet and Østergade.
Here, you will find a large variety of shops, from budget-friendly high street chains to luxury brands. And if you need to rest your feet and refuel after shopping, you can easily find a cafe around the Nytorv, Gammeltorv and Amagertorv squares. Even if you’re not into shopping, the numerous street musicians and performance artists provide plenty of entertainment during a stroll.
